6 Steps to Start WordPress Blog and Make Money.
Step 1: Choose a Blog Niche and Name.
The first step is to pick your Blog and niche name.
Readers first see the name of your Blog, (yourblog.com) so choose wisely.
If you know your niche, add exactly those keywords while picking a name for the Blog.
Check if the name is available or not, if not select one closely related to your niche ( your keyword).
Adding a keyword in your blog name tells the search engines that you are an authoritative website and expert in that particular niche or topic.
This also helps you narrow down the competition.
example (learnseowithumang.com), (travelwithumang.com).
If you are not sure, what is your topic or niche?
Go for the general terms called (broad niche). Examples include blog topics like travel, business, technology, food, etc.
This is the most common first question asked by every beginner individual folks.
Several blogging platforms are available, but WordPress.org is the most popular due to its drag-and-drop feature and customization.
Blogger & Blogspot are free, they are not worthy if you are serious about blogging.
According to Demand Sage Statistics.
About 8.5 billion searches happen on Google every day. So there is no doubt, that blogging is still relevant in 2024 and the upcoming years till Google was alive.

Step 4: Choose theme & write your first Blog Post
Don’t spend too much time on selecting a theme. Also don’t buy a theme when you are just getting started.
Our main goal right now is to get some attention for your blog.
There are tons of free themes available. So how would you decide which to choose?
Whatever theme you select copy the URL and run into the PageSpeed Insights.
If it passes a score more than 85 then it would be a green signal.
Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New Theme > Popular.
For your convenience, I use the Neve theme for my blog.
Create your first blog post
After installing WordPress and selecting a theme hover on the post > click add new > create your first Blog Post.
Go to the Posts » Add New post in your WordPress dashboard to write a first blog article.
When you’re done, hit the Publish button to make your blog online .

A CMS, or Content Management System, acts like your friendly online toolbox. It simplifies creating, editing, organizing, and hitting publish on all your web content.
Imagine building a website without needing to know a single line of code! That's the magic of a CMS or Content Management System.
Step 5: Promote Your Blog to Increase Traffic and Readership.
Purchasing Hosting & Domain, connecting it. Install WordPress, customizing themes and Plugins. Writing 100 articles and publishing them is not a promoting act.
Reaching a wider targeted audience is a dream unless you figure out how to market your blog and reach those readers beforehand.
Here are my top-rated, tried-and-true strategies for promoting your blog and increasing your readership (faster) this year:-
Sharing your content on social media is a great way to expose your blog to ideal users.
According to Statista,
As of January 2023, approximately 64.4% of the global population, or 5.16 billion people, used the internet.
Out of this total, 59.4%, or 4.76 billion people, were active on social media, up from 4.62 billion in 2022.
"Guest posting is one of the oldest marketing tactics, and it remains as powerful as ever.
Guest posting involves reaching out to sites in your niche and pitching topics for them to publish on their blog.
This is a win-win situation for both oppositions; it gives the blog owner high-quality, unique content while providing you with a hyperlink to your website."
Email Marketing is one of the most underrated methods to get eyeballs on blogs.
There are 4 billion daily email subscribers. 37% of brands are raising their email budgets.
The majority of marketers use mobile-friendly emails as part of their marketing plan.
"Content repurposing involves reimagining your most popular pieces of content.
This is only possible if you clearly view your previous publications and what each one gives to your audience.
For example, a blog post can be recycled into an infographic, a YouTube video, a podcast, or even a Slideshare presentation.
Many authors believe that it's never seen again after you've written a post. Wrong!
You can always use older posts if you like. One of the most effective methods to repurpose old content is to update it with more recent facts.
A forum is an online community where people can talk, share thoughts, and seek help on search engine optimization subjects.
These forums allow SEO beginners, experts, and enthusiasts to discuss the most current methods, tools, and shifts in the industry.
Step 6: Monetize Your Blog!
Here, we reach last but not least the most important step i.e. monetization.
Most people started the blog, created helpful content, and invested their crucial time but they can’t make money.
WHY? Because writing content is not enough to get a fortune.
There are several methods to monetize your Blog:
Get Adsense Account
If you want to start earning as quickly as possible, create your Adsense account so that Google shows relevant ads on your website when you have qualified traffic.
Create Youtube Channel
When accessing information on the internet, the majority of people choose video format over text format.
According to TechSmith.com statistics 83% of respondents would rather watch a video than get knowledge or instruction through text or audio.
The majority of respondents watch videos between two and four times per week.
Affiliate Marketing
It is just marketing the products of other businesses in exchange for the commission you receive when the user purchases a product.
Here is the list of best Affiliate Marketing sites:
- Amazon Associates.
- Clickbank.
- CJ Affiliate.
- Share A Sale.
- Impact.com
- Rakuten.
Conversion E-Books
Creating useful and insightful e-books is also one of the best opt-in email marketing strategies to convert website visitors to buyers.
Sponsored Post (Guest post)
Sponsored posts are paid promotions for a certain product or service.
You can charge any price for sponsored content, it is also determined by the quality of traffic your website generates.
